"Lindsay Lohan Quizzed About Missing Necklace"

Posted by David Schmader on Thu, Feb 3, 2011 at 9:42 AM

I'd grouse about the headline's choice of verb* if the story weren't so sad:

The actress is at the center of a police investigation over a one-of-a-kind piece of jewelry, which was allegedly stolen from Kamofie & Company in Venice, Calif.

Store surveillance footage from January 22 reportedly shows Lohan trying on the chain, worth $2,500, before it went missing, and shop owners later linked its disappearance to the actress after she was snapped out a week later wearing the unique design, according to

Cops called off the hunt for the jewelry at Lohan's home on Tuesday when one of Lohan's associates turned the necklace over to authorities.

The case has been handed over to the LA District Attorney's Office and Lohan's meeting with her probation officer.
