Well, this doesn't make any sense. Alpha Broadcasting's KXTG (that's 95.5"The Game" to us Portlanders)—the radio home of the Portland Trail Blazers, Oregon Ducks, Portland Timbers, and the John Canzano "Talk Loudly and Say Outlandish Things" radio hour—will be now broadcasting Dodgers games throughout the 2011 MLB season.

Take it away publicist with who is not afraid to use that ALL CAPS key:

"The great thing about this new relationship with the LOS ANGELES DODGERS is to not only bring the listener great baseball with legendary announcers, but we can wrap the schedule on 95-5 around our primary sports partners - The BLAZERS, DUCKS, SEAHAWKS and TIMBERS," said ALPHA Dir./Talk Programming BRIAN JENNINGS. "We'll be able to carry select games in APRIL, then a much heavier DODGERS schedule through the summer and back to select games in SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER.

Sports broadcasts are mainly a regional affair, and to randomly pipe in games from a baseball team in Los Angeles—rather than say the Seattle Mariners, or even the geographically more relevant, San Francisco Giants—seems very odd. The good news is that Vin Scully's soothing voice will be on our FM dial, even if it means we'll have to hear the broadcasting legend wax poetically about portly relief pitcher Jonathan Broxton blowing yet another save.
