Things got crazy during rush hour on the MAX yesterday.

At 5:15 pm, Portland Police responded to a report of a stabbing on a westbound MAX train:

Officers spoke with dozens of witnesses and learned that the suspect and victim began arguing on the westbound MAX train. The suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim, then exited the train at Southwest 2nd and Morrison. The victim remained on the train and witnesses called 9-1-1. The train stopped at the Pioneer Place Transit Station, located at Southwest 4th-5th and Morrison, and medical personnel responded to treat the victim.

The suspect is described as a 28-30 year old black male, clean shaven, thin muscular build, white baseball cap, white t-shirt, black puffy jacket, and blue jeans.

Westbound MAX service was disrupted for approximately 45 minutes.

The victim was a 44-year-old man from Hillsboro. He's in stable condition as of this morning.
