There's a couple bits of fallout already Governors Kitzhaber and Gregoire officially choosing the "cheap but ugly" Columbia River Crossing bridge design earlier this week. First, there's Steve Duin's column in the Oregonian:

The crowd at Monday's "press" conference was telling. The room was jammed, reminding you of just how many lobbyists, consultants and transportation groupies have made a living off the $125 million that has been spent on the bridge before the first shovel of dirt is turned.

Yet, here's John Kitzhaber, talking about a "paradigm shift."
