Portland has a new space for creative types: A group of designers has converted a warehouse in SE Portland into a membership-based studio that aims to be a hub for welders, woodworkers, and anyone who builds or creates.

The space ADX had its grand opening last Friday evening. The place was packed with people munching down Sizzle Pie and Ninkasi, but also with a handful of large projects like a handbuilt wooden cargo bike and design store Hand Eye Supply's massive Starlight Parade float. It seems like there's a definite need in Portland for more affordable studio space for people working on big projects, hopefully ADX can fill the void.
