Behold This Week's Mercury Cover

Posted by Erik Henriksen on Wed, Jul 13, 2011 at 4:16 PM

We're pretty stoked about it. A few of us at Mercury HQ came up with this image to tie into this week's feature story—written by Bobby "Fatboy" Roberts, about OMSI's GameOn 2.0 videogame exhibition—and artist bijijoo absolutely nailed it.

These issues should be hitting the streets as I type this. Props, Mssrs. Hopper and Miyamoto.

Genius. I have never been more excited to have my existence completely invalidated.

(Bobby Roberts is my hero.)

Very cool. I was just looking at some Hoppers the other day, and thinking oh how I wish they had more Mario.

So...how many people who see this are gonna know it's a riff on Nighthawks? Anyone? Or is everyone going to pass the newsbin and go, "hey, it's that famous painting, right?"

Cool painting indeed, and thanks for introducing me to the artist. His other stuff is cool too.
