Ack! It's another entirely unfunny report of a car nearly obliterating a local business! But this time it's almost kind of funny because the car managed to take out a TriMet bus stop and a bike friendly mattress store.

According to the police's report, the car also "grazed" a pedestrian. "Grazing" a pedestrian in a swiftly moving car sounds like it would be enough to take someone's arm off, but here's the press release:

Traffic investigators were able to determine that 66-year-old Carolyn George who had been traveling southbound on 24th Avenue and turned to Eastbound Sandy Boulevard when it appeared she swerved to avoid 32-year-old Jason Jancosek who was crossing the street south to north in the crosswalk. George apparently grazed Jancosek and then drove into a Tri-Met Bus Kiosk and then into the Mattress Lot showroom. Jancosek sustained minor injuries and was not transported [to the hospital].
Carolyn George was cited for Failing to Stop and Remain Stopped for a Pedestrian.

Hey! That's the family-owned mattress store where I bought my mattress after I almost had a nervous breakdown at IKEA! And it's perhaps the only mattress store in the world that delivers by bike!
