We have a sort of Gentleman's Agreement here at the Mercury that if writers want to cover events outside their regular beat, they need to check with the relevant editor—if I want to write about some new technique for cleaning out pugs' face folds, I have to ask Ezra. (He always says no.)

So I texted Erik Henriksen to ask if I could do this post. His response, quoted in full:

"They are all like 14, paedo"

Which I'm pretty sure means GO FOR IT!

The Top Down film series is screening 1983's The Outsiders on the roof of the Hotel DeLuxe tonight—a screening sponsored, hilariously, by the Pride Foundation. The show starts at sunset; there's more info here.
