Oni Spotlight at Powell's

Posted by Alison Hallett on Mon, Aug 15, 2011 at 3:44 PM

At the Burnside Powell's right now there's a big display featuring the Oni Press titles One Soul and Petrograd, both of which are currently on sale for 30% off—and both of which are great. Petrograd is a gorgeous piece of historical fiction about the assassination of Rasputin during World War 1, while the structurally audacious One Soul illustrates as only a graphic novel can how individual, forgettable lives make up the sweep of history—it contains the life stories of 18 individual characters, with panel in every two-page spread devoted to a specific character. (I suspect I am not explaining One Soul well—take a look.)

Both of these are well-worth owning.
