The latest Luc Besson project, Colombiana did not screen in time for this week's print deadline, but never fear, our online review is here. It's a commonly known fact that the studios often purposely evade print publications when they're afraid the chorus of "It sucks!" will dampen the haul on opening night. However, our critic Jamie S. Rich had nice things to say about its moments of "bloodthirsty fun." He also seemed to enjoy the sex scenes. Everything else? Not so much.
Too bad there are so many gaps between kill shots. A half-hearted backstory overburdens the pyrotechnics, putting the supporting cast in awkward situations they are ill equipped to handle.
That trailer is okay but it could have used a few more "Never forget where you came froms."
