Sparkplug Comics Publisher Dylan Williams Passes Away

Posted by Alison Hallett on Sat, Sep 10, 2011 at 6:39 PM

The Beat is reporting that Sparkplug Comics' Dylan Williams has passed away.

We’ve just received word that Dylan Williams, Sparkplug publisher, has passed away. Williams had been battling cancer, and several benefits for him were underway here at SPX.

Williams was an amazing publisher and a kind, thoughtful person — if you ever met him you know this to be true. Our condolences to his friends and family. We’re all feeling his loss right now.

I had no idea it was that bad. We reported on several benefits underway for Williams—the local and national comics community rallied to his aid once word of his medical situation leaked—but my (second-hand) understanding was that the primary concern was Williams' medical bills. Apparently it was much worse than that.

There's nothing to say beyond how deeply sad this is.

Goddamn :( I ordered a bunch of comics from them a couple days ago, hoping to help out. This is so sad.

Hello to all. Dylan was my cousin. Thanks for being there for him and helping him w/ everything. He chose a day to remember, 9-10-11. How could you forget that day. Thanks again. Karen Trochta, El Campo, Tx.
