More Like The Fail-y

Remember how Rupert Murdoch's iPad newspaper The Daily was going to change journalism? Bloomberg says not so much:

News Corp. (NWSA)’s the Daily is averaging about 120,000 readers a week, or less than a quarter the number the company said it needs to make money, according to an advertising executive working with the iPad-only publication.

And Gawker says it's even worse than that:

A source familiar with News Corp.'s numbers said that, on a day to day basis, The Daily typically engages just 10,000 paying subscribers.

I am all for media people engaging with technology in a forward-thinking way. I am all for media people getting paid jobs. But I am also for seeing Rupert Murdoch eat shit in a spectacular fashion. So I think this is what you call bittersweet news.
