How was your morning? Lousy, because it's Monday? (Hi, Garfield!) Yeah, well, no matter how bad, I bet it wasn't as bad as this. And if it was, you don't win. You still lose.

From the Portland Police Bureau:

Today, Monday October 17, 2011, at 8:35 a.m., Portland Police responded to the report of a disturbance involving a knife at 160th and East Burnside Street.

Officers arrived and learned that the disturbance started at a residence near the intersection when a 48-year-old man was involved in an argument with several of his stepsons who are in their late teens. The stepsons began banging on their step-dad's truck then walked to the corner of 160th and Burnside. The stepdad then drove his truck down to the corner and hit three of the teens with the truck, slow speed.

Stepdad returned to his residence and the teens followed. Stepdad pulled out a machete and struck one of the teens, and the teens grabbed rakes, PVC pipe and large posts and began striking stepdad.

Officers have detained the 48-year-old man and three of the teens were transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.

No charges have been filed yet and no names will be released at this time during the ongoing investigation.
