One of my takeaways from watching outtakes and deleted scenes on the Bridesmaids Blu Ray I recently reviewed was how fucking hilarious Wendi McLendon-Covey is: She was great in the movie proper as a jaded mom, but her improv skills (and filthy mind) really shone to great effect in those special features. (She also played Deputy Clementine Johnson on Reno 911!.)

What I didn't realize was that McLendon-Covey is the sister of Portland's own Shelley McLendon, whom you might have seen performing with Sweat, Roadhouse: The Play, and the Liberators. Back Fence, PDX just announced that the McLendon sisters will be presenting a story in tandem at their November 17th show. Has there been a better time in history to be a woman in comedy? (The answer to that question is "no.")

The Onion ran a great interview with McLendon-Covey a few months ago, which touches on her history with Kristen Wiig and Annie Mumulo at the Groundlings
