Rick Perry Murders His Own Presidential Campaign on Live Television

Posted by Paul Constant on Thu, Nov 10, 2011 at 1:29 PM

I have never seen a candidate go down in flames this badly during a debate before. This is incredible:

And that was the last anyone ever heard of Rick Perry, except for all the endless YouTube remixes and parodies.

Via MSNBC, here's the transcript:

Perry, who has sought to resuscitate his campaign after a string of poor debate performances, admitted that he had forgotten one of his answers about which three federal agencies he would eliminate.

Turning to Texas Rep. Ron Paul to boast, Perry said: "I'll tell you: it's three agencies of government, when I get there, that are gone: Commerce, Education and, the —uh — what's the third one there? Oh, five! Okay! Commerce, education and the uh, the uh..." before being interrupted by a question. "The third agency of government I would do away with — Education, the, uh, Commerce, and let's see — I can't. The third one, I can't. Sorry."
