Mark Sultan at East End - Tonight!

Posted by Ned Lannamann on Wed, Nov 16, 2011 at 4:15 PM

Perhaps you know him as BBQ or Needles or Noammnn Rummnyunn—but the man best known as Mark Sultan (that's Mark Antonio Pepe to his parents) dons his turban tonight for another set of fuzzed-out garage psych. Sultan just came out with a new video yesterday, for "Graveyard Eyes" from his latest release, Whatever/Whenever, which is actually a CD compilation culled from two vinyl full-lengths, Whatever I Want and Whenever I Want. Sounds like a surplus of material? Well, Sultan has an even newer record available that he just recorded in September; The War on Rock 'n' Roll is available as a free download on his site, so head on over there and pick it up.

Check him out at East End (203 SE Grand) tonight. Also on the bill: Thee Headliners, Chapter 24, the Shivas, and Still Caves. 9 pm, $12.

End Hits: I bet by now that turban smells a little.
