Can we get one thing real clear? Using Blogtown however you please is not a "free speech right." It is perfectly constitutional for Alison to put limits (i.e. bans, etc.) on public blogs. In the same way that it is perfectly legal to lock the Mercury offices at night, and not allow someone to lick Sarah Mirk's office chair, it is legal to close a blog and not allow someone to post there.

So while you may argue that Jurassic Park bashing should be allowed, stop saying that it is currently a first amendment right, because it isn't.

Now, Commenty Colin himself. Many people are interested and sypathetic to CC's broader goals. I think that many fewer people are interested in a running battle between a small subset of commenters and CC.

You can't ban people for being wrong on the internet. In fact, it's the best place to be wrong!

I'm wrong on it ALL THE TIME. It's freeing.

Colin must feel REALLY FREE right now, I'm sure.

I've never been wrong on the internet. Not one time. In fact, I am probably the most well behaved person who ever used the internet. Especially at 3 am when I am having drunk feelings.

I like just that Steve communicates only with single syllables and orphaned punctuation marks.
