Music School of Rock Benefits PDX Pop Now!

Two of the finest things in the Portland music scene are PDX Pop Now! and School of Rock. Which is why it makes perfect sense that they've joined forces for a special School of Rock "Best of Portland" benefit show, which will go to benefit PDX Pop, the all-ages non-profit music advocacy organization.

This is fine enough on its own, but just a quick look at the lineup reveals that this is going to be something special, because many of Portland's best and/or most successful bands are involved.

Participating artists include members of:

• Red Fang
• Brian Jonestown Massacre
• Portland Cello Project
• M. Ward
• Thermals
• Danava
• Nether Regions
• Menomena
• Laura Veirs
• Typhoon
• Ancient Heat
• Radiation City
• Cameron Spies
• Blitzen Trapper

The concert will involve the teenage musicians in the School of Rock program performing the songs from these bands alongside members of these bands. The show takes place at the Crystal Ballroom on January 13, and for tickets and information, visit the Best of Portland Show site.
