Good Morning, News!

Posted by Wm.™ Steven Humphrey on Wed, Dec 14, 2011 at 9:29 AM

GOOD MORNING, BLOGTOWN! Up on the rooftop, klick-klick-klick! Down through the chimney with good St. Nick. LET'S GO TO PRESS.

The United Postal Service has decided to hold off from closing post offices until at least May 15. YAY! Four more months of Papa John's circulars!

The House passes the payroll tax extension plan—which also just happens to include approval for the Keystone XL oil pipeline. The good news? Republicans are finally trying to develop jobs. The bad news? Those jobs kill Bambi.

Obama's approval rating hits an all-time low—and he's still more popular than Gingrich. So there's that.

Perhaps the people pooh-poohing Obama should check out this article about how his health care initiative has given 2.5 million young people medical coverage.

In Afghanistan, a woman who was raped by a relative and imprisoned for adultery has been released. It gets better?

Meanwhile a Saudi woman has been beheaded for allegedly practicing "witchcraft and sorcery." It's not getting better. At all.

Noting the uprisings in the Middle East and the Occupy movement here in the states, Time magazine picks "The Protester" as person of the year. I PROTEST THAT DECISION!!

Now here's what's going on in your neck of the woods: Partly cloudy today, light rain tonight, but more sunny sunshine through the weekend.

And finally, Birthers try to get their message across by flying their stupid banner... over a closed stadium? Again, money and time well spent.
