Maybe I'm weird, but even though I hate Santorum I'm rather tired of this sort of thing. (For one thing, it isn't at all fair to people who happen to share his surname.)

I know Dan's had to put up with sharing a surname with Michael Savage (who was, however, born with the unhappy surname of Weiner), but he should think twice about ruining others.

BTW, Mecklem means "The Glorious Hero" in Scottish Gaelic, or in Sindarin, I always forget which.

Savage, when used as a verb, means:

1. to assault and maul by biting, rending, goring, etc.; tear at or mutilate: numerous sheep savaged by dogs.

2. to attack or criticize thoroughly or remorselessly; excoriate: a play savaged by the critics.

Definition #2 pretty much sums up Dan's relationship to Santorum.

Nonetheless, I still think "Why Santorum is hot in Iowa" is funny, because I'm twelve.
