The Black Keys Are Playing the Rose Garden

Posted by Ned Lannamann on Mon, Jan 9, 2012 at 11:14 AM

Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney grabbed some headlines last week when he accused Nickelback of being the "biggest rock band in the world" in the new issue of Rolling Stone. (He wasn't being nice. Full quote: ""Rock & roll is dying because people became OK with Nickelback being the biggest band in the world.")

But now it looks as though the Black Keys are pretty much one of the biggest bands in the world, too. And good for them! I will take the Black Keys over Nickelback anytime of day, any day of the year. But man, they are popular. To wit! The Black Keys will be headlining the Rose Garden on May 7. The Rose Garden. You can't really play a bigger show in Portland.

Tickets go on sale this Friday at 10 am through the Rose Quarter Box Office, Ticketswest, Safeway, and Comcast Tix. We're gonna have some tickets to give away over on End Hits, too. Stay tuned!
