Tonight in Poetry: Eirean Bradley Book Release

Posted by Alison Hallett on Tue, Jan 31, 2012 at 3:14 PM

Tonight at Backspace, a release party for the I in team, the first book of poetry from Eirean Bradley, host and organizer of the Portland Poetry slam. (oh hi steve, what Blogtown poetry ban.) In addition to Bradley, whose above poem made me laugh 3 times, tonight features readings from Smalldoggies Magazine co-founder, Matty Byloos, two-time National Poetry Slam Champion Mighty Mike McGee, and more.

That's tonight at 7 pm, $5.

Poetry Slams. Ugh.
Done it before, never again.

This looks cool. But I think I'll just go home and watch Spike's poetry reading from the Angel finale instead.

First I read that as Eileen Brady and thought it was an odd campaign event. Then I read it as Eireen Brady and thought it was some oddly racist stage name. Then I realized it was neither and just some random slam poet (OH NOETRY!) and now I feel I have thoroughly wasted the last minute of my life.

Ha ha terminizer me too. I clicked here to ask if Eirean Bradley was a culturally insensitive parody of the New Seasons co-founder/not-co-founder.
