Mirk, read the statement from Komen. It did not "reverse its decision." It announced it would continue the Planned Parenthood funding that was already in process -- which was never in dispute -- and then allow PP to reapply for grants if it so chose. There is absolutely nothing in today's statement that's a reversal. It's just a carefully reworded version of what they've said all along, and a lot of media organizations have run with the "Komen reverses!" headline without actually reading the statement.

It's not even clear if Komen WILL in fact give money to PP; they only said in the statement that they were now eligible again to receive funds.

From the Washington Post:
"A Komen board member...confirmed that the announcement DOES NOT MEAN that Planned Parenthood is GUARANTEED future grants — a demand he said would be “unfair” to impose on Komen. He also said the job of the group’s controversial director, Nancy Brinker, is safe, as far as the board is concerned...

Komen said today that the group would 'amend the criteria to make clear that disqualifying investigations must be criminal and conclusive in nature and not political.'”

Komen just played the media like a fiddle.
