Good news for N. Mississippi: Niles Armstrong, designer of the Worn Path line of jewelry (you may have seen his work at Golden Rule or the Mississippi Flea; it's currently in both locations of Animal Traffic) is opening up a shop of the same name, with which he plans to "inspire people to be outside and enjoy the wonderful surroundings here in the Pacific Northwest." Beyond his own merch, though, Niles reports a endearingly eclectic and personal vision (two of my favorite qualities in a boutique of any kind). He's planning for "Small '70s referential cruiser skateboards and supplies, Murdey Surfboards, Poler Camping Stuff, Juniper Ridge teas and household items, Tim Adam bags, books on Northwest plants identification as well as mushrooms and handmade houses, planters made by John Sardari (Goby Hardwoods), small furniture made by James Sinacore, knives by Opinel and Helle, letterpress cards and art by Fortress Letterpress, Zig Zag shoes, plus a mixture of clothing items and other goods to use while out in the wild."

Worn Path will open in the Mississippi Records space at 4007 N. Mississippi, with a projected opening in early May, just in time for wanting to be outside for approximately three days out of every Portland week.
