Portland Bureau of Transportation has finally unveiled a website to educate and engage the public in the city's much-anticipated bike share program.

"If you haven't been to a city with bike sharing, it's hard to imagine what it'll look like," says PBOT's Dan Anderson. "The website was created to show the basic reasons for implementing this program."

The site offers your typical FAQs and national examples for those questioning the system, but also allows visitors to suggest ideal spots for bike share hubs. Not surprisingly, the current suggestions reach far beyond the city's intended downtown perimeter. Some even have their fingers crossed for a Tigard or Beaverton station.

Stay tuned for upcoming coverage on the next steps city council takes on moving forward with the program.
