This is What it Looks Like on Twitter When a Basketball Team Completely Gives Up on Its Coach

This random sampling of twitter took place with 5 minutes to go in the 3rd quarter of the contest between the Portland Trail Blazers and the New York Knicks on March 14th, 2012.

Mike D'Antoni, after realizing his team had completely shut him out, and he'd lost all ability to motivate them, resigned from the New York Knicks today. The Knicks responded by holding the Blazers to 29 points total in the first half, playing a combination of spirited defense and precise offense. This is what it looks like when a team completely gives up on its coach and grabs the steering wheel in response.

It helps when the Portland Traiblazers, who to this point counted giving up 124 points to the Washington Wizards as their worst performance of the season, decided amidst swirling trade rumors and general discontent across all aspects of the organization, to come to a dead stop directly in the center of a blue and orange freeway. This is what it looks like when a team completely gives up on its coach and waits patiently in the backseat for the head on collision.

I don't think getting rid of Jamal Crawford and Raymond Felton is going to fix this.

If this were a medical drama someone would have said to call the time of death already.
