Crashed Out: Blazers Agree to Trade Gerald Wallace to the Nets (UPDATE: Marcus Camby Gets His Ass to Houston, Too)

Posted by Bobby Roberts on Thu, Mar 15, 2012 at 11:28 AM

UPDATE: According to Marc Spears of Yahoo - Marcus Camby is going to the Houston Rockets for Jonny Flynn, Hasheem Thabeet and a 2nd round draft pick. Flynn & Thabeet are basically expiring contracts and nothing more. Well, they're also a pretty good name for a Dubstep group, or a pair of down-on-their-luck private investigators, but so far as Portland's concerned: Expiring contracts.

There he goes. He's left more skin on the hardwood at the Rose Garden than maybe any other player in the last 5 years, and according to reports from Ken Berger at CBS, David Aldridge at NBA.com, and the Wonderful Wizard of Woj at Yahoo.com - Portland finally got themselves that 1st round draft pick they've been fiending for ever since trade season (the season Blazers fans seem to love more than any other, except for offseason) started.

The deal would send Wallace to New Jersey for Mehmet Okur's expiring contract, Shawne Williams, and a first round pick.

Here's what I find on youtube when I type in Shawne Williams.

His stats: 6'9", 230lbs, average 20 minutes per game, 4.5 points per game, 2.7 rebounds per game, 0.6 assists per game. Not that any of that matters because Williams is out indefinitely for the rest of the season due to myriad injuries.

When the Blazers eventually ship out Jamal Crawford and somehow bring back Steve Blake to save Portland's backcourt from the sad Langolier that is Raymond Felton, I'll let you know.
