Banana Stand Announces Compilation, Day-Long Music Fest, and Kickstarter Campaign

Posted by Ned Lannamann on Mon, Apr 23, 2012 at 11:44 AM

Banana Stand Media has hosted live shows by many of Portland's best bands at their house-venue location, and they've released over three dozen professionally recorded live albums of those shows. Now they're releasing a 20-track compilation of some of the best of those moments. It's a great looking collection (track listing after the jump) and to celebrate its release, Banana Stand is hosting a FREE day-long show at the Hawthorne Theatre on Sunday, June 10. This show will include the debut performance of Genders, which is a new band featuring members of Youth, who just broke up in the past couple weeks. Here's the lineup:

ALL-AGES Afternoon Show:
2:00 pm - The Woolen Men
3:00 pm - Fanno Creek
4:00 pm - The Angry Orts
5:00 pm - Sons of Huns

21+ Evening Show:
8:00 pm - Genders (featuring members of Youth)
9:00 pm - Blue Skies for Black Hearts
10:00 pm - Tango Alpha Tango

Banana Stand has also just launched a modest Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for the compilation's release. All that info's over here—and you can check out the video above as well. Donations can be tiny (a buck gets you a download of the comp), and a $125 donation gives bands a full day of professional quality recording at their venue/facility, which is a great deal. Banana Stand has been doing fine things for the Portland music scene, and this is a great opportunity to support them.
