Republican Spokeswoman Says Their Economic Platform Is Bush's, "Just Updated"

Posted by Paul Constant on Tue, Apr 24, 2012 at 2:59 PM

ThinkProgress brings this to our attention:

During an interview last week on The Fernando Espuelas Show, Alexandra Franceschi, Specialty Media Press Secretary of the Republican National Committee, said that the Republican party’s economic platform in 2012 is going to be the same as it was during the Bush years, “just updated”

The audio is fascinating. She doesn't dispute the fact that the Bush Administration sucked in terms of job creation, but she admits that they want to go back to the Bush economy:

And then you have Marco Rubio saying George W. Bush did a "fantastic job" as president. Sometimes, it feels like the 2012 election is going to come down to a test of our collective memory, and whether the majority of voters in the United States can remember what the late summer of 2008 felt like.
