Drunk When's the Last Time You Had a Julep?

Pope House Bourbon Lounge (NW 2075 Glisan St) will host a fundraiser for the Oregon Bartenders Guild this Monday in the form of Julep Fest 2012 - a competition/party/silent auction where "dressing up Southern Style is strongly encouraged," meaning "dapper suits for the men and dresses and hats for the ladies." $25 admission to this Kentucky Derby pre-game covers a taster of each distinct kind of Julep prepared by guild members (one of whom will be voted crowd favorite at the end of the night) and full serving of classic Mint Julep. There will be games and prizes, there will be drunks dressed in their Sunday best, and there will probably be a man who impeaches the proverbial barista... but it's for a good cause, specifically one that promises you'll get tipsy with a crowd of classy lushes. What could be better, ya'll?
