Congrats to local author (and former Mercury columnist) Chelsea Cain, who according to Deadline Hollywood is in the midst of getting her Heartsick series of thrillers developed into a new TV series for FX.

The thriller novels, Heartsick, Sweetheart and Evil At Heart, center on beautiful serial killer Gretchen Lowell and her relationship with damaged Portland detective Archie Sheridan.

If you haven't read Chelsea's work, do so! They are filled with visceral, nasty thrills, great characters and it's one of the smarter thriller series out there. PLUS THEY'RE ALL SET IN PORTLAND. And as you know, FX is also the home of such great shows as American Horror Story, Justified, Louie, Archer and more... so they probably won't screw it up. Congrats, Chelsea!
