Events Design Week Portland

On the heels of my query as to why Portland's apparel designers are active in the growing community and support networks among designers in other fields comes news of a new series of events slated for October 9-13. They're calling it Design Week Portland, and while precise details are pending, it's a collaborative effort between Designspeaks, CreativeMornings, WeMake, ADX, PSU, PNCA, Museum of Contemporary Craft, WebVisions, CreativeCares, "Plus a host of others," according to Designspeaks' Eric Hillerns—in other words: All the right people. "We're all event content providers already," says Hillerns, "And figured we'd circumvent the endless talk and just make it happen."
Yes, please, make it happen! (Stay tuned for what "it" ends up being.)
