Death Songs on Into the Woods' Feels Like Home

Posted by Ned Lannamann on Fri, Jun 1, 2012 at 10:44 AM

Into the Woods
recently posted the latest installment of their Feels Like Home series—this one with Death Songs, the band of former Shaky Hand Nick Delffs that's steadily grown from a milder, more acoustic-oriented outfit into a fully loaded gospel-soul rock band. This is a fine take on the charging "Ophelia," shot in a rustic house, with Delffs on the Wurlitzer and Justin Power slamming the downbeats. Some reports indicate Delffs (a recent father) has moved out to Idaho, but Death Songs have been kicking around town playing plenty of shows in Portland in recent weeks—and coming up, the band plays Wednesday, June 6 at Common Grounds Coffee House as part of Bim Ditson's art opening, and will also do a free set at Rontoms on Sunday, June 10.
