One of the biggest shows during the mostly fashion-free summer months leading up to fashion-heavy fall is Alley 33, coming up Saturday, July 28. An open-air, beer-in-the-sun kind of affair, it's a pretty lighthearted celebration of Portland's independent design community. On Monday, they're holding an open casting call for female models. I wouldn't go so far as to say they're looking for a huge variety of types (must be 5'7" to ride), but the requirements are much more casual than is traditional (sizes 2-10). Plus, you don't necessarily need to be experienced, much less professional (key word: "personality"). MOD writer and Alley 33 backstage manager Elizabeth Mollo has the deets up over this way.
