PARK TO THE FUTURE
—Portland Parks' Movies in the Park program is awesome, and a great excuse to get outside with your stupid family. And tonight's selection is especially awesome because it's Back to the Future, starring Marty McFly as a boy who hates his family, too—until the great uniter (time travel) teaches him otherwise! WSH
Oregon Park, NE 30th & Oregon, movie begins at dark, FREE

SUGAR—Track down the Dear Sugar advice column at therumpus.net. Wallow in the archives. Maybe even cry at tiny bit at advice that's so compassionate yet so pragmatic. Then hurry to buy tickets for tonight's show, where "Sugar," AKA local author Cheryl Strayed, will join some very special guests for the release party of her collected columns. AH
w/Steve Almond, Courtenay Hameister, Laura Gibson; Bagdad, 3702 SE Hawthorne, 7 pm, $19.95 (includes copy of books by Strayed and Almond)
