The Big Float and "Myths of the Willamette"

Posted by Marjorie Skinner on Thu, Jul 26, 2012 at 1:59 PM

The second annual Big Float is almost upon us! This Sunday, hordes of revelers will overcome their longstanding (and unnecessary) fears of swimming in the Willamette by donning life jackets, hopping on inflatables, and floating their way across—right in the heart of downtown, where if founder Will Levenson has his way, there will someday soon be a swimming beach to beckon the summer crowds—WAY! Even better, when you reach the shore, you'll be greeted by a big bash featuring live music, food carts, beer, and more. Hell, there'll even be a swimming area for those who want more. If you still have lingering doubts, allow this third installment of the Big Float's promotional video campaign by KT Creative to charm your fears away:

See? It's fine. Register ahead online and save yourself some line time, or go to Popina Swimwear's pick-up party tomorrow from 6-9 pm at their eastside location, 4831 NE 42nd.
