Watch out, downtown drivers, for this roadblock-to-be in the Pearl District: the 3rd Annual Deschutes Brewery Street Fare will spill out from their brewery from 5-9 pm tomorrow, August 16, for a celebration of beer (duh) and food cart pairings to benefit Loaves and Fishes. Starring carts include Oregon Ice Works, PDX671, Prickly Ash, BAO PDX, Gonzo, Burgatroyd, and Touch Down’s BBQ, and the event is all ages. $10 wins you admission to the festivities and a first food and beer taster, as well as live music headlined by The Fruit Bats (pay $4 for each additional pairing or $30 to try everything). Check out the menu here—it looks pretty delicious, and the event is probably the best value (and probably the most fun) for experiencing offerings from Deschutes Brewery—with dinner, to boot. Go, enjoy the sun and some really good music, and support a great cause (Loaves and Fishes is a longstanding Portland nonprofit that provides nutritious meals to the local elderly).
