"Technically, fictional mutants have more rights than real gay people."

Posted by Alison Hallett on Fri, Sep 14, 2012 at 12:27 PM

"Earlier this month at Dragon Con, Brian Parsley and his longtime partner George Lewis recreated the cover of Astonishing X-Men #51, where Northstar gets married to his partner Kyle Lindau in front of pretty much all of Marvel's mutants," writes Topless Robot's Rob Bricken. "The only difference? Northstar actually did get married, but Dragon Con was held in Atlanta, and Georgia has banned same-sex marriage. Parsley and Lewis have said they would definitely have made the ceremony official if they could have. Which got me thinking. Technically, fictional mutants have more rights than real gay people."

Aw.
