Want an excuse to look at hilarious web comics all day? Here's one! The Oatmeal's Matthew Inman is at Powell's tonight, presenting his new collection How to Tell If Your Cat Is Plotting to Kill You.

If you want to feel weird about your cat for a while—or if you're one of those cat owners who lives in willful denial of the fact that your cat is a tiny murderer—I'd recommend the excellent "How Much Do Cats Actually Kill?" as a good intro to Inman's comics, which are typically rooted in crazy-smart observations, plus the occasional picture of an adorable animal. (Or if you're a restaurant owner and you haven't read this comic about restaurant websites, you probably should.)

In addition to hilarious comics about pets and other junk, Inman recently spearheaded two internet-popular fundraising efforts: "Operation BearLove Good. Cancer Bad." was a pointed response to a content aggregator that tried to sue Inman for defamation after Inman accused the site of stealing his work; and he raised over a million dollars to create a Tesla museum on the site of Tesla's old laboratory in New York.

The reading is tonight at the downtown store tonight at 7:30 pm. I've got a copy of How to Tell If Your Cat Is Plotting to Kill You to give away if anyone wants it (it includes a poster!). Best description of a cat assassin in the comments wins.
