There are a ton of cookbook authors at Powell's in the next month. Of particular interest: Deb Perelman of Smitten Kitchen shares her solid new cookbook on November 5; pleasure-denying Cook's Illustrated/America's Test Kitchen founder Christopher Kimball is at Cedar Hills on November 12 to present The Science of Good Cooking , a compendium of Kimball's test-tube cooking tips and "foolproof recipes"; and Scott Heimendinger is here on November 30 with Modernist Cuisine at Home, a home-cook oriented version of the wildly expensive, six-volume, highly covetable Modernist Cuisine.
