Drinking to Fix Flood Damage: Deliciously Appropriate

Posted by Clare Gordon on Fri, Nov 2, 2012 at 2:44 PM

In the wake of Hurricane Sandy, one of the most closely-knit national industries is pulling together to raise funds to get their distant friends back on their feet - a series of boozy promotions to benefit victim bars through the New York chapter of the US Bar Guild kicks off this evening, featuring cocktail specials at bars in Portland and Seattle. Local offerings include Cyclone Relief Punch at Rum Club for $5 a cup, $7 Bronx cocktails at Park Kitchen, Manhattans at Central, and undisclosed specials at Kask and Teardrop Lounge. All proceeds from specified drinks will go to relief efforts, helping New York's finest bars to cover damages and reopen quickly. More details and any additionally participating bars here. Join the nation in drowning your sorrows (too soon?) and sip a Manhattan in the spirit of the Big Apple.
