Public service announcement: MacGyver is on Netflix Instant, and you should stop whatever you are doing right this second and go watch it. I've been sick the past few days and MacGyver has saved my life—LITERALLY. In my experience, you can't go wrong with any MacGyver episode, but here are the Netflix descriptions of a few that might be good to start with.

MacGyver is accused of having a fear of commitment by the women in his life. A dream takes him back to the Old West with its mail-order brides. ("MacGyver's Women," Nov 12, 1990)

MacGyver discovers his family name was disgraced during the Middle Ages. He is then knocked unconscious and transported to the time of King Arthur. ("Good Knight MacGyver, Part I," Nov 4, 1991)

After outwitting Sir Duncan and escaping the clutches of Morgana, MacGyver and Merlin search for the kidnapped Cecilia. ("Good Knight MacGyver, Part II," Nov 11, 1991)

Two guys whack a priest in the head with a metal pipe, drag him to a construction site, and rob him of everything valuable. MacGyver investigates. ("There But for the Grace," Feb 18, 1991)

MacGyver arrives at a new neighborhood filled with weirdos, surfer dudes, roller girls, and two rich old men who have nefarious plans for the 'hood. ("The 'Hood," Sep 23, 1991)

The military asks MacGyver to check out a new high-tech security system at one of their bases. Complications arise when the computer traps MacGyver inside and attempts to kill him. ("The Human Factor," Sep 22, 1986)

MacGyver and the kids at the Challenge Center are taught the true meaning of Christmas by a mysterious homeless woman who comes to stay there. ("The Madonna," Dec 18, 1989)

MacGyver's friend Penny Parker (Teri Hatcher) gets the lead part in a new musical. MacGyver suspects it may be a set up by his arch-nemesis to trap him. ("Cleo Rocks," Feb 6, 1989)

While mapping wilderness in Alaska, MacGyver discovers an abandoned ship. A Russian stowaway tells him the crew was scared off—by Bigfoot! ("Ghost Ship," Oct 19, 1987)

That last one is particularly good—so good that a dude made a trailer for it!
