SUPER GROUP. Of sorts.
  • SUPER GROUP. Of sorts.

In the arts section this week, Jacob Schraer wrote about Portland's new small-press supergroup: Longtime collaborators by way of the popular Bad Blood poetry series, chapbook publisher Poor Claudia officially joined forces with poet Zachary Schomburg's Octopus Books. Poor Claudia, Bad Blood, Octopus Books, and poetry journal Octopus magazine will all continue under the "Octopus" umbrella. Of the "merger," Schomburg says, "We thought it would be fun, and maybe a little tongue in cheek, to buy each other out. Because this is so not a moneymaking thing. It's almost the antithesis of that because there's no money involved."

They celebrate the new regime with a big reading tonight at ADX, featuring influential New York poet Eileen Myles along with Patricia Lockwood, Ben Mirov, and Donald Dunbar.

That's tonight at ADX, 417 SE 11th, 8 pm, badbloodpoetry.org
