Events Go East! To 82nd Avenue! On a Tour This Saturday!

Portland is the whitest major city in America. That fact can obscure the reality that there are lots of non-white communities here and, especially as you head east in the city, cultures and people from all over the world who make Portland their home.
This weekend, the Dill Pickle Club (an arts nonprofit I work with sometimes) is partnering with a couple immigrant and minority groups to lead a tour of East Portland. Spending Saturday afternoon on a bus in East Portland might not sound thrilling, but I bet it will be interesting and definitely a good kick in the pants to get yourself east of 82nd Avenue for once.
