Anna Hassenpflug is a familiar face to many dive-loving Portlanders, with a long history behind the bar at Southeast favorites the Lutz (of yore) and My Father's Place. Her uncle has advanced multiple sclerosis and is in need of a lift van in order to retain his independence, so Anna is throwing a Pro-Am benefit pinball tournament at MFP (523 SE Grand) tomorrow, with qualifications starting at noon (tournament at 7 pm). It's worth full points with the IFPA (International Flipper Pinball Association), but there will also be an amateur competition for the more casual players with prizes from sponsor Pabst and local businesses. The entry fee is $20 (plus quarters) with discounted drinks ($2.50 well drinks, $1.50 PBR tallboys) and "that warm, fuzzy feeling you get when you help someone in need."
