Portland police have cracked the case of the hipster bandit!

The bandit has been on a bank-robbing spree around Portland since this summer, earning his moniker after a witness to an August robbery at Albina Community Bank told police the robber "looked like a hipster."

On Friday, December 7, the hipster struck again, when he robbed the Consolidated Community Credit Union on NE 20th and Sandy, pedaling away into the Kerns neighborhood on a bike. Portland police descended on the neighborhood and located 40-year-old Harvie Dale Oglesby III, who they say matched the description of the robber and have "evidence from the bank robbery" on his person.

Oglesby is now in custody, authorities are planning to prosecute him for five bank and credit union robberies this year. Meanwhile, we now have a definitive, legal definition for what a hipster looks like.
