Film Just Enough of Only God Forgives To Make You Wish There Was More, Plus Some Other Movie News I Feel Like Talking About, Because Why Not

I mentioned Only God Forgives—Nicolas Winding Refn and Ryan Gosling's follow-up to Drive—in my "2013 in Film: A Reckoning" piece, and I'm still entirely too curious and excited about it, and this state is only exacerbated by this entirely too-quick sort-of teaser:
This is almost enough to make me feel better about the fact Guillermo Del Toro turned down Star Wars. Man. Guillermo del Toro doing a Star War would have been neat! And this also means Del Toro is like the third major director to turn down the gig, which is making me think that maybe Disney's plans for Episode VII might not be... huh. What's the word I'm looking for? Oh, right. "Good." Yeah. "Good."
One last bit of movie news: The reason Behind the Candelabra, Steven Soderbergh's Librace biopic—starring Michael Douglas and Matt Damon, and supposedly the filmmaker's final film—is coming out on HBO rather than in theaters? Here's Soderbergh explaining, via FilmDrunk:
"Nobody would make it. We went to everybody in town. We needed $5 million. Nobody would do it.
"They said it was too gay. Everybody. This was after Brokeback Mountain, by the way. Which is not as funny as this movie.”
Hooray for Hollywood! In related news, Hollywood is still the worst place on the planet! Even worse than that terrifying place in Bangkok where Gosling's probably going to make sure a horrific amount of blood is spilled.
