Food Pie Day Looking Pretty Sweet This Year

I grew up recognizing Pie Day (pi day, really) as March 14, when the math club at my high school would sell slices of blueberry and lemon meringue in the hallways between classes. Apparently there's a separate, NOT Geometry-inspired national holiday for America's favorite pastry, and it's tomorrow, January 23rd. Portland eateries specializing in the stuff invite you to join in the most delicious and caloric of celebrations.
Stop by a party at Lauretta Jean's at their cozy new home on SE Division from 6 pm to 9 pm. The cafe promises prizes, music, dancing, boozy pairings (these folks have a new liquor license and aren't afraid to use it), and a PIE WALK. Why should cake have all the fun?

Random Order Coffeehouse will be pouring classic pie-inspired cocktails, like a promising-sounding Hot Apple Pie, in addition to offering $1 off all of their stellar slices.

And North Portland's TILT is offering a free slice of fruit or cream pie to every customer. They've got one of those $20 credit for $10 deals on Yelp right now as well, so grab an entire classic American meal at this scratch diner - they'll probably let you order dessert first.
