If you're a fan of The Walking Dead and HBO's Girls, then you should totally be reading my The Walking Dead (and Girls) Chitty Chat Club recaps... because they're the only recaps in America that recap both shows SIMULTANEOUSLY. Booyah! Boom-shacka-lacka.

Anyway, here are two related newsy bits:

1) The Walking Dead has a new showrunner, guys! After giving the boot to Glenn Mazzara, AMC has hired supervising producer Scott Gimple—who has been with the show since season two— to the showrunner position. From Deadline Hollywood:

Gimple, who has been on the show’s writing staff since season two, has written some of the most talked-about episodes from Seasons 2 and 3 including episode 306 (“Hounded”) and last season’s climatic mid-season finale episode 207 (“Pretty Much Dead Already”), which revealed Sophia in the barn.

Okay! So good luck, Gimple! (I don't actually wish him luck—I just like saying, "Good luck, Gimple!")

And 2) did you know that Lena Dunham of Girls auditioned for Zero Dark Thirty? Here's her audition reel. I can't believe she didn't get it!
