PDX Pop Now! Extends Comp Deadline, and Talkin' Ball Wants Your Music, Too

Posted by Ned Lannamann on Wed, Mar 6, 2013 at 11:44 AM

It's rare for a musician to laggardly miss a deadline—if anything is true about musicians, it is that they are almost too punctual, and they and never ever procrastinate—but in spite of this, the PDX Pop Now! folks have generously extended their deadline for this year's compilation album. We originally reported that submissions to the comp needed to be in Monday March 4, but that's been extended a week: You now have until 11:55 pm on Monday, March 11 to submit your song. All the info you need, and the place to submit your song, is over on the PDX Pop Now! site.

But that's not the only opportunity for local musicians to get their music heard. Comcast Sportsnet Northwest is looking for a new theme song for the Talkin' Ball basketball talk show, and have put out the call to local musicians to send their stuff in. Here is your chance to be heard by literally dozens of obsessed Blazers fans after each and every game broadcast. All the info to enter their contest, as they are terming it, is over on Comcast Sportsnet NW's site.
